Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.8 / 5 from 63 reviews.
This mouse feels amazing and it in hand. The built is solid and very light and easy to glide.
Larger mice meant for palm grip, or just for people with bigger hands, have always come with a pretty obvious compromise: weight. That makes sense, of course. More material for a larger mouse usually means more weight, and for a long time, if you wanted something that actually filled your hand, you had to accept that it was going to feel a bit heavier. The latest generation of gaming mice is starting to change that though, and the MelGeek Horus feels like it is spearheading that push in the premium space. At 49g, it is exceptionally light for a mouse of this size.
The shape is really comfortable if you like a larger, more supportive mouse. It reminds me a bit of the Ninjutso Ten and the Finalmouse Starlight X in general hand feel, though I definitely would not call it a direct copy of either. The Horus feels optimized more for palm grip, or claw grip if you have really large hands. For my hand, it fills the palm nicely without feeling bulky or difficult to control. The coating is also excellent. It has this nice rubbery grip feel that makes the mouse feel secure in hand, which is a must for me because my hands can get sweaty during clutch gaming moments.
Responsiveness is excellent. The sensor tracking feels exceptionally smooth, and I had no issues with weird skipping, spinouts, or latency. The 8K polling works well, but I usually stick around 2K because it gives me the best balance of responsiveness and battery life. You still get that very snappy feeling without draining the battery as quickly as full 8K.
The included 8K dongle also deserves a mention because it looks sick on the desk. It has this translucent prism design with a little pyramid in the center, which is way more interesting than the boring black USB dongles most mice come with. It can also act as a battery life indicator or show your polling rate/profile using the lights, which is actually useful instead of just being desk decoration.
Build quality feels great overall. Even with the low weight, I didn’t notice creaking, flexing, or rattling during normal use. The clicks feel crisp, the shell feels solid, and the mouse does not have that cheap hollow feeling some ultralight mice can have. Battery life has also been strong, especially when not running full 8K all the time.
Overall, this is a fantastic lightweight wireless gaming mouse if you want something larger and more palm-friendly without giving up speed or responsiveness. The shape, coating, weight, 8K performance, and very cool receiver all make it feel like a premium mouse that was actually designed by people who understand enthusiast gaming mice.
There are a lot of great features packed into this mouse, but you probably wouldn't think it to look at it. Taking the mouse out of the box, it has a very unassuming and average looking body. The receiver has a cool, almost sci fi look to it, but the mouse looks like a standard office mouse. It is very light weight and feels easy to swing around. The mouse has your standard set of buttons with 2 top, a middle click on the wheel, and 2 side buttons. The buttons can be remapped with their online software, but there probably isn't much you will be remapping other than maybe the 2 side buttons. The scroll wheel reacts well, but feels to have a bit more resistance than I am used to. The body of the mouse is a smooth touch matte black, which looks great but also picks up smudges pretty easily, and is prone to sweat. Some grip tape would help with that. The overall size feels fairly large in my hand, and I have pretty big hands. As far as features go, this mouse moves great, and responds well. the 8k polling and 30k sensor make it snappy and responsive, and easy to move between wide sweeping movements and precise control. The mouse performs great, but the overall design feels like they didn't want to fully commit to a "gaming" mouse and instead went with an everyday design and it fails to impress on look and hand feel.
First off, this mouse is so exceptionally light. You'll forget you're even holding/moving something because it weighs so little. Despite feeling as if it is made of nothing in terms of weight, the quality is excellent. It's extremely well made and feels very durable. It also just generally feels great in the hand, and I appreciate the included textured grips.
It connected right up to my computer with no issues, and it's extremely responsive. I've used it on a few difference surfaces now with no tracking issues at all.
I do wish it had bluetooth so that the dongle wasn't needed (when I travel), but I understand the weight/speed trade-off.
The only unique aspect of the mouse is the front of it looks like a car bumper. The bumper part sticks out flat, not rounded, so it stops any forward title on the mouse. It is a large mouse so I’d say this is designed for people with big hands. Other than that, this is a pretty standard design for an ultralightweight mouse with only 2 buttons. It’s large and symmetrical, if not for the button placement, it would be a mirrored design for left or right-handed use. It has a matte coating which is slip resistant. All the weight is in the center so it’s pretty balanced. Despite it's light weight, it feels pretty sturdy like it could hold up to heavy use.
You need to use their HIVE driver and software package to adjust the settings on the mouse. If you have their keyboard, you can also adjust the keyboard with the same HIVE software. It comes with a light up pyramid inside a cube that flashes and lights up to show battery level, dpi settings, and polling rate. The mouse can be used with or without the included usb/c cable.
In summary, this mouse is very responsive, easy to use, and has a long battery life. The light weight reduces finger fatigue and it allows for rapid clicks. The most unique aspect is the front design which prevents forward tilt, and the light up receiver box to show settings. You do need to download and install their software to adjust the settings otherwise functionality is pretty limited. I also like that there’s no honeycomb holes in the mouse to collect sweat and grime.
When I got this mouse, I needed something as a daily driver that was sleeker than my MMO mouse without all the buttons. I was going to go with a big name brand, and then I stumbled upon this one. I was not expecting to be so blown away by this mouse.
First, the weight - it is the lightest weight mouse I have ever held in my hand. This is partly due to the hollow design - genius touch. This makes comfort, grip, and overall gaming a 10/10 and then some. The lightweight design makes playing shooters feel like a breeze. You almost don't even feel like you're holding a mouse.
Charging - the charging of the mouse is so fast and it comes with a fun cube that changes lights. I love the design as it makes my desk so modern and fun.
It has 30k dpi sensor, 8k polling, and it holds up even after hours and hours of gaming.
Fits medium to large hands and for reference - I have pretty small hands but my husband has LARGE hands and he has been stealing it and using it for his games too. He has a size 13 ring finger for reference (baseball mit hands) so if it fits his hand, it really fits up to XL size hands in my opinion.
It comes with a USB C charger which is great and easy to plug in.
You can get this in black or white, the white is holding up really well. We do wipe it down with an alcohol wipe every other week or so, and it's still a beautiful muted white despite our hours of hand oil touching it to play video games.
I cannot say enough about how great this mouse is. It is worth the money and holds up against all of the big brand competitors for gaming mouses. I will be purchasing more from this brand. They clearly design their products with sleekness, comfortability and style in mind.
The MelGeek Horus Lightweight Wireless Gaming Mouse is a strong performer that clearly targets gamers who value speed, precision, and minimal hand fatigue. At around 49 grams, it feels incredibly light in use and responds quickly to even small movements. It comes with replacement feet, a dust shield for the open bottom of the mouse, and grip pads that you can add onto the mouse if you find it too slippery for your liking.
What I Like About This
?? Very lightweight feel — The ultra?light design makes fast movements effortless and helps reduce wrist and hand fatigue during long gaming or work sessions.
?? High?end sensor performance — Tracking is precise and responsive, with a wide DPI range that works well for both competitive gaming and everyday tasks.
?? Reliable wireless connection — The 2.4G wireless performance feels fast and stable, with no noticeable lag during use.
?? Good battery life — Battery life is impressive at standard polling rates, so you’re not constantly thinking about charging.
?? The shape works well and is quite comfortable for a variety of grip styles, especially if you have medium to large hands.
?? Smooth glide — The PTFE feet provide consistent, smooth movement across surfaces.
What Isn’t So Great
?? Extremely light weight isn’t for everyone — If you’re used to heavier mice, this can feel almost too light and may take time to adjust to.
?? It requires the use of a dongle - it is not a Bluetooth or USB mouse.
Overall, the MelGeek Horus is a well?designed, high?performance mouse that excels at speed and comfort, especially for those looking for a very lightweight mouse. If you’re looking for a fast, modern wireless mouse and don’t mind the ultra?light feel, it’s a very strong choice.
The MelGeek Horus Wireless Gaming Mouse is an impressive entry into the lightweight mouse market. It brings that signature MelGeek design flair to a high-performance peripheral, and it’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking to shave grams off their setup without sacrificing build quality.
The Pros:
Extremely Lightweight: At roughly 49g, this mouse feels almost weightless in your hand. It’s perfect for fast-paced gaming where quick flicks and minimal wrist fatigue are priorities.
Intuitive Setup: Even though it didn't come with detailed instructions, the setup is very straightforward. It’s essentially plug-and-play, and the "HIVE" software is easy to navigate if you want to customize your DPI or polling rate.
Smart Design Details: The included anti-slip stickers and dustproof bottom stickers are a great touch. They are cut specifically for the mouse’s contours, so they can only go in one specific direction/location—making it impossible to mess up the placement.
Stunning Receiver: The "Louvre Pyramid" 2.4GHz receiver is a total standout. It’s not just a dongle; it’s a piece of desk decor that glows and adds a lot of character to your setup.
The Cons:
Large Receiver Footprint: Unlike the tiny "nano" dongles you might be used to, this receiver is quite large (square/pyramid shaped) and has to be plugged in via a USB cable. It takes up a bit more desk real estate than a standard wireless adapter.
Wake-Up Connectivity: I’ve noticed that if the computer has been asleep or unused for a while, the mouse sometimes requires a quick manual reconnection or a power cycle to get it talking to the receiver again. It’s a minor hurdle, but something to be aware of for daily use.
Final Verdict: This is a top-tier, 4-star gaming mouse for those who value weight and unique design. The sensor performance is flawless, and while the dongle is a bit bulky, the aesthetic and feather-light feel more than make up for it. Just be prepared for a few reconnection quirks!
This mouse is insanely lightweight and makes a big difference if you’re using it for long sessions or gaming. It feels super responsive and smooth, and the battery life has been solid so far. The shape works well for medium to larger hands, and it’s comfortable without feeling cheap. Only downside is no Bluetooth, but overall it’s a really solid wireless mouse.
MelGeek Horus is an excellent gaming mouse. I was amazed by how light it is compared to my other mouse.
The see-through back and split front design look very cool. It comes with useful accessories like a braided USB-A to USB-C cable and grip stickers. The color is pleasing, and it’s comfortable to use even for large hands. The buttons are clicky, and the mouse is very responsive.
The Melgeek Hive app allows good customization, which adds to the experience.
Another highlight is the pyramid-shaped dongle. It looks great and has customizable lighting. I’ve had overheating issues with standard USB dongles affecting performance, but this standalone dongle design solves that problem. However, it lacks infinite scrolling which I prefer for work.
I really like this gaming mouse. It’s super lightweight, which makes it easy to move and great for long gaming sessions without feeling tired.
The performance is excellent—the sensor is very responsive, and everything feels smooth and accurate. I also like the wireless connection, which works reliably without any lag.
The shape fits comfortably in the hand, especially for medium to large hands. The battery life is impressive too, so I don’t have to charge it often. Overall, it’s a high-performance mouse that’s great for both gaming and everyday use.
The MelGeek Horus mouse is way more sophisticated than my needs call for. It can be used with the USB-C cable as a wired mouse, which also charges the mouse. For wireless capability, the mouse does not use Bluetooth and opts instead for a 2.4G connection that requires its pyramid dongle to be plugged in. The dongle is actually a translucent cube surrounding a pyramid shape within and has changing light colors and flashes that correspond to clicks, battery capacity, etc. If you have to have a dongle for best wireless, MelGeek has made it into a bit of glowing eye candy for the desktop. You will need to download the Hive software from MelGeek to customize settings, including pyramid color and illumination effects, button mapping, DPI, polling rate, sleep time, etc. The lightweight mouse might feel like a cheaper device, but the technology is elevated for performance. For my daily use, it's over-engineered and bit intimidating to set up. For gamers, this is likely worth the price for a great play experience.
The worst part about this mouse were the instructions that came with it. They were useless. Thankfully, the videos on the product page helped immensely. The battery life is amazing and will last more than a full day's worth of computing. It has a good feel and weight to it, and it connected easily once I figure out how to do it. It is responsive and reacts very quickly to each press of whichever button I'm click. This makes computing a breeze.
The 49g weight makes it easy to move quickly and reduces fatigue during longer sessions and the high polling rate and sensor accuracy help with smooth precise tracking the shape fits medium to larger hands comfortably and the wireless connection stays stable with low latency battery life lasts a long time between charges and USB C charging is convenient buttons feel responsive without being too stiff overall it’s a strong option if you want a lightweight mouse that performs well without overcomplicating things
